Working for a global landmark like Harrods requires more than just cleaning expertise; it demands rigorous operational compliance. As an approved contractor, Prestige managed the entire logistical process, including the provision of detailed Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), background ID checks, and full security clearance.

The project presented a strict “out-of-hours” window, with a start time of 10:00 pm and a hard finish of 3:00 am. Within this 5-hour slot, we had to deep clean a large luxury rug situated beneath heavy display units. The challenge was twofold: protecting high-value fixtures while achieving a level of hygiene and aesthetic restoration that exceeds the capabilities of standard in-house maintenance teams.

The Solution: Meticulous Detail & Specialist Chemistry

To ensure a comprehensive clean, our technicians moved all lighter displays while carefully working around fixed, heavy units. We utilised the Sebo Dart professional vacuum with specialised crevice tools to remediate deep-seated dust and grit from the tight edges where everyday vacuuming fails.

Our targeted restoration process included:

  • Ink Spot Treatment: Localised ink stains were individually treated using advanced solvent-based spotters to safely lift pigments without damaging the delicate rug fibres.
  • In-situ Low Moisture Cleaning: We utilised a Very Low Moisture (VLM) system to ensure the rug was deep-cleaned without the risks of over-wetting or the need for off-site transport.
  • Precision Edging: Meticulous attention was paid to display stand margins to ensure no dust was left in the transitions.
