Prestige was commissioned to perform a specialist deep-clean of large-scale, high-value area rugs within the Selfridges Oxford Street Flagship. In a world-class retail environment, these bespoke rugs are a focal point of the interior design and require a level of care far beyond standard commercial maintenance.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was the sheer scale of the rugs combined with a strictly limited out-of-hours window. The items could not be removed from the retail floor, meaning our team had to execute a complete restoration between store closing and the 9:00 AM opening. We had to guarantee 100% dry surfaces and zero moisture residue near sensitive displays and luxury stock.

The Solution: Precision Low-Moisture Cleaning

Following a detailed fibre assessment, we deployed a multi-stage low-moisture restoration process. We utilized industrial-grade air movers to accelerate drying times and ensured a thorough soil extraction without over-wetting the delicate backing. This technical approach allowed us to revitalize the pile and color without impacting the store’s climate control or trading schedule.

The Result

The rugs were fully restored to a “boutique” standard, clean and bone-dry 60 minutes before the store opened to the public. By providing a technical solution that avoided the need for off-site cleaning, we saved the client significant logistical time and ensured their flagship environment remained flawless for high-net-worth customers.
